So it turns out there is a tree in the grounds of Blenheim Place that has become famous with Harry Potter fans, so it's unimaginatively known as the "Harry Potter Tree". It would appear it was in a scene in the 2007 Film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I'm no HP fan, but the Internet tells me that Professor Snape musses over the time he was bullied by Harry's father.
Anyway, it was reason enough to visit. Entry into Blenheim Place is a bit pricy (even the grounds), but it turns out there are plenty of public footpaths criss-crossing the estate, and so I parked up in a lane behind the grounds, and had a lovely (free) walk to the tree. The tree itself is apparently a Cedar of Lebanon, and was planted by Capability Brown in the 1700's - which I personally think is more interesting than Harry Potter !
